A lifelong member of the Hinsdale community, she grew up just a few blocks from Hinsdale Dental and attended St. Isaac Jogues School before graduating from Hinsdale Central High School, where she played soccer all four years. Education and Clinical Training
During her dental education, Dr. Kumskis received comprehensive training across all dental specialties under the guidance of experienced specialists. She also completed a five-week extramural program at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, where she gained valuable experience treating dental emergencies and caring for patients with a wide range of oral health needs. Her research focused on evaluating the forces generated by maxillary expanders in children and adolescents, further supporting her interest in pediatric dental care.
Community Connections and Personal Life
As the oldest of six children, Dr. Kumskis has always enjoyed working with kids and helping patients feel comfortable in the dental chair. Having grown up in the Hinsdale area, she is excited to return home and serve the community that helped shape her. Outside the office, she enjoys running, training for the Chicago Marathon, reading by the pool during the summer, discovering new bakeries and restaurants, and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, Colorado Buffaloes, and her favorite Chicago sports teams.

What made you want to become a dentist?
I always knew I wanted to work in healthcare, but it wasn’t until I shadowed at a dental office during college that I discovered my passion for dentistry. I loved the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients and help them feel comfortable receiving care. Since I was nervous about dental visits as a child, my goal is to make every patient’s experience as positive and stress-free as possible.
